Of Mice and Thumbdrives

On mice....I use lazer mice exclusively, playing around with cleaning mouse balls and pulling cat hair out of the tiny little spindles inside convinced me that non-castrated mice are very much a thing of the past and as a species need to go extinct. I like a mouse with a good hand feel and medium weight and a minimum of 12-1600 DPI ,adjustable on the fly is a nice feature too. My wife tells me that i set my movement rate too high, meh! it's my mouse and it works for me. On to thumb drives, what's that you say? You don't have one! WHY!?!?!? flash drives are cheap and if you have multiple computers to admin or need to work between home and office can be an invaluble tool. But to me a flash drive becomes sOOOOOO much more. I've loaded up a favorite linux "live" distro (knoppix) for booting hosed systems and backing up needed files and I've got one loaded with Hiren's Boot Disk ( found here ) for trying to repair infected, corrupted or otherwise hosed systems. I also use one as an installation source for operating systems (either linux and or windows) instead of burning a cd or dvd. Another is used strictly for my many usb utilities my business dictates ( roboform here , Ccleaner here and defragler here ) plus many more.

  1. Nice first post!
Now get crackin and lets see more from you!

  2. I'm ready to see what you have to say. I really like the Ccleaner and Defragler. FYI, I'm still using the old computer that you gave new life to. It works better than some people's computer that are much newer. I'm surprised to find out how many people don't even know what I'm talking about when I ask how often they clean and defrag!

  3. $50 bucks to clean and defrag a syatem.....I'll take the easy money!
